Our Story
Our church planting story begins back in the summer of 2005 when we were given a prophetic word indicating that we were being called to plant a Vineyard church. This was even before we were part of the Vineyard movement. Through a series of events, not initiated by us, a link with Vineyard was made and we took the opportunity to move home from Northamptonshire to join West Suffolk Vineyard Church based in Bury St Edmunds. For us finding the Vineyard was like coming home.
The sense of call to church plant continued to grow as we served in the church and after training we were commissioned to plant in Worcester in the summer of 2009. We arrived in the city in early 2010 and after taking some time to settle in began the plant in the Autumn.
Why Worcester?
This stems from a dream that David had back in 2005 that indicated the place we should be heading to was linked to the word Wyvern. We did not know what that meant but on visiting the city in 2008 David spotted that the Park and Ride was sponsored by Wyvern Radio. How amazing was that. This was subsequently confirmed in other ways and we love being in the place we know God has called us to serve.
